The Best Car I’ve Ever Owned
2 min readI’ve owned two Hyundais in my life and dearly loved both. While I will never forget my first car, a Tiburon, the best car I ever had was a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe. When my family began to expand I wanted something with a little more room than the Mazda 6 I was driving. While I loved my Mazda, I needed more space. I looked at SUV’s but quickly decided that my limited parking skills didn’t match up with the hefty Suburban-esque monsters available. My driving chops will have to improve before I can bump up to that class. So I turned my attention to the crossovers that were available. I test drove several such as the Toyota Rav4, the Nissan Rogue, and the Ford Edge. I loved all of these cars, but unfortunately they were a bit out of my price range with the amenities that I wanted to add on. Then, I found the Santa Fe. I wasn’t even planning on looking at them, but I had a little extra time that day and I instantly fell in love with it.
Here is what is so awesome about Hyundai’s Santa Fe:
Interior
The interior was roomy, with a back seat that was comfortable enough for a grown person to ride in. The interior has a classy look and easily accessible controls for the radio and cruise control. The blue lighting in the car looks very modern and isn’t too hard on the eyes for night driving. One of my favorite things about the Santa Fe is that it has a hidden storage compartment in the back. It has plenty of room for tools, a blanket, or a number of shoes!
Exterior
The Santa Fe has the smooth lines and styling of a more expensive vehicle. The SE model comes with the roof crossrails and a rear windshield wiper, which is very handy for the nearly vertical back of the car. Stylish wheels set this crossover off as a cool-looking car.
Price
Even though I went with the middle of the line SE model, it was still well within my price range since the dealer was trying to move all of his 2007 models and it was the end of the year. No other crossover that I could find at the time had all of the upgrades, looks, and comforts of the Santa Fe SE for the price that I paid for it.
Safety
Hyundai is now one of the most reliable names out there with one of the best warranties. The Santa Fe has a five star safety rating, which really helped in making my mind up. I have had minimal problems in the four years I have owned the Santa Fe and plan on keeping it for as long as it will run. I always recommend it to those looking for a dependable, roomy, and good-looking crossover.
